Prosecutors request the revocation of bail for Jitendra Amritlal Pattni in connection with a Ksh 2.3 million fraud case.

The legal team aims to address concerns regarding Pattni's potential flight risk.

The director of public prosecution applied to the court to have bond and bail issued in favor of Viral Jitendra Amritlal, a businessman of Asian origin, canceled, and he be remanded in prison pending trial.

Trial magistrate Susan Shitubi was told by the prosecution that the accused Viral Jitedra Amritlal Pattni escaped the jurisdiction of the court after he was charged with the offense of defrauding a woman ksh 2.3 million.

The court was told that the accused upon taking the plea failed to appear in court for trial, and subsequently, the warrant of arrest was issued, and it has taken 7 months to have him arrested.

The prosecution further submitted that the medical report that the accused has purported to produce has been verified to be fake and not from Kenyatta National Hospital.

The accused is charged to have defrauded Shaitsa Khamisa Abdul Latif by claiming he was in a position to supply her with diamonds from Tanzania.

The accused is said to have committed the offense between 17th and 23rd February at Parklands sub-county.

The court will endeavor to deliver its ruling on 22nd August 2024 as to whether bail and bond will be canceled.
